Your AI Silent Partner

This morning, I came across a sponsored post while scrolling through social media. It offered a slick little booklet—at a very reasonable price—promising to help you:

“Skyrocket your Business by building a Clone of yourself that acts as your AI Silent Partner.”

Now, I have no doubt the author put real work into it. It might be excellent. But me? I’m the curious, thrifty type.

So I wondered: “What would ChatGPT say about this idea?” I asked—and what came back was a surprisingly simple, step-by-step guide. And best of all?

  • No cost
  • No download
  • No email harvesting
  • No need to join someone’s funnel

So here it is, absolutely free. Try it out. If it helps—great! If not—hey, you’re only out a few minutes (and you didn’t have to give up your inbox).

PART 1: Tell It Who You Are (Because You’re Worth Knowing)

Start by opening ChatGPT. Click the little three dots or your profile picture → then go to “Custom Instructions.”

Fill in the blanks:

  • Who you are:

“I’m retired and live in Virginia. I juggle writing, community projects, school advocacy, and caregiving. Oh—and I occasionally rant in the newspaper.”

  • How it should respond:

“Professional when business calls, but let’s keep it light and friendly when we’re blogging or on LinkedIn. Short and sweet unless I ask for more drama.”

PART 2: Use Prompts Like a Boss

Here are your magic phrases:

  • “Rewrite this email to sound less like a robot.”
  • “Turn these bullet points into a fiery letter to the editor. Keep it under 300 words.”
  • “Give me a weekly plan with 2 hours of writing, 1 hour caregiving, and room for my weekend naps.”

PART 3: Templates = Sanity

Templates save brain space. Create ones for:

  • Weekly Planner
  • Monthly Goals
  • Submission Tracker

Use them in:

  • Word Docs (if you like to highlight and scribble)
  • Google Sheets or Excel (for the spreadsheet people)C
  • SVs (if you’re Notion-curious)

PART 4: Notion = Pinterest for Productivity Nerds

Want to look like you really have it together?

  • Open a Notion page
  • Type /table → Choose Full Page Table
  • Click “Import CSV”
  • Boom—you’ve got a dashboard

PART 5: Make It a Ritual (No Candles Required)

Start each week with:

“ChatGPT, let’s get my week together. Use last week’s format. Also, what’s still stuck in my Drafts folder?”

Bonus points if you sip your coffee dramatically while saying it.
